Work is the Answer

I really find work therapeutic.  I get lonely without D around.  I have a nice roommate and that helps.  Taking care of business and growing my business helps a lot too.  There’s always plenty to do.  I mean, it’s overwhelming sometimes.  You pay with your time rather than money.  But I have a good bit of time on my hands sometimes.

I have a facebook presence I’ve been working on for at least a year for my business.  I’m getting to the point where I might be able to earn a little money offering products to my face book friends.  I want to give it a try.  It’s a lot of work though!  You’d be surprised.  The sky is the limit though if I want to put in the work and push through the difficult stuff.

What else have I got to do?  Watch television?  Ugh.

I’m still glad I lived in my van for 4 1/2 years.  I needed to get out of the 40-60 hour week to learn new things and profit off my own labor.  I don’t like corporations having a piece of me.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

Hi Maureen, sounds okay in your world right now. Glad you haven’t taken to television and the couch to fill your time. That’s a good decision right there.

If you ever want to share your FB page, I’d come and “like” it. 🙂

I am on FB just to look at various craft things like spinning yarn and making felted pieces and such. But I don’t go on there more than even once a week anymore. Can be a huge time-suck.

Another couple of months and I’ll be into my friends 5th wheel. In time for cold weather. It’s a big, heavily insulated trailer too so I am pretty excited. Will probably even be more comfortable than my old house!

Nice to see you post. Take care!

A couple of months huh? I’m so glad you have that opportunity. Will you be able to stay there forever or will you have to find a new place after a while. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to live where I am now forever. I kind of wish I could.

        Hi Maureen,
I know I can stay there for a while, maybe as long as a year. And, the wife of the couple has offered the trailer to me to just have! Isn’t that something?

I would have to find a place to park it for cheap. I’ve been looking around. I need to increase my income for sure. I’m getting $500 a month from my late husband’s pension and that is it right now.

I guess I should maybe call into Underearners meetings again. I definitely have a fear of failure with work right now.

I’m sorry you might not stay where you are for as long as you want. But glad you’ve got it for now.

Oh yes, please call UA Angela. The thing I have realized is that a lack of money can really leave me weak. I don’t need money for material goods per se, but for other things like keeping my car running and I want to start taking vitamins again. I’ll admit, there are certain things I want in my life that it usually takes money to get. A car is one of them, holistic/herbal medical care if I need it, vitamins, travel to see my children and so on. A few hundred dollars a month didn’t do that for me.

There are ways to make money online. There truly are. If you know how to use email and comment on blogs there are other things you could use Youtube or other websites to teach you. You could learn how to set up someone’s wordpress blog, for instance. People make $100 and up for what would become for you a simple process taking an hour or so. The sky is truly the limit. You just have to have the want. That’s the hard part for me sometimes too.
