Welcome new Readers

It looks like a few thousand new readers came to my site, just this morning! I’m very excited about this! Thank you to Miss Minimalist for featuring my story and my blog.

I hope you minimalists and budding minimalists will stick around as I get real about my van experience. I am trying to add a subscribe button. Bear with me!

I’ve been van living for almost four years now and it’s been quite a ride. I REALLY wanted to travel the world but lack of money has kept me in place BUT it’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet (Southern California) I slept just a few feet from the ocean last nite. I could never do that when I was cooped up in my expensive condo and all my STUFF!

Lately I’ve been looking into a program to get me housed again but I’m scared. If I’m worried about keeping my place (even though on this program I would only have to put one third of my income toward rent) I might get trapped in a job. JOBS ARE NOT EASY OR SIMPLE FOR ME. They clutter up my mind a lot.

So stick around if you are interested while I muddle through this. Thanks!

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

Wow, getting some publicity. Congratulations. There are many people interested in living more cheaply. And as America declines, that number will skyrocket.

yes and some will choose it because it feels good!

I believe many people would like to live this life-style is just many of them have physical difficulties & need something more predictable, something like been close to medical services & easy access to other services. This is my personal opinion, I could be wrong thou.

      My regards. Lucy.

Glad your site is been more active lately, good for u girl !!

I am actually very close to some of the finest hospitals in the world! I have seen a woman confined to a wheelchair living in her van so I think with some modifications, free-sleeping in a van is doable for a lot of people.

        • Lucy says:

True, there are people out there that are physically challenged yet they still live like nomads, but they are the exceptions; here is one example, she has a blog that is:
          rolling in a RV-wheelchair traveling
I believe the problem with stealth camping is the harassment people has to go thru & is harder on a disable person ( my humble opinion )

I read about you on MIss Minimalist. I wanted to know more about your life so I read some of your other entries. I think you are very brave to live in a van.

Just stumbled onto your blog and excited to read more. Fits with both things I, myself, and trying to achieve.. minimalism and freedom. I am not full-time in my van, yet. Always wanting to learn new tips and tricks. Cheers!!
