VanTroubles AGAIN

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars this past month replacing my radiator and water pump in my van and STILL there’s a leak somewhere and the van is overheating.

Between this and some other disappointment I’ve had lately, I’m not a very happy camper right now.

It’s lighting a fire under me to get some more work though, so that’s a good thing.

I also need to get something going because my daughter will be home from college around the first of May and I need money to rent her a room somewhere.  I’m planning to stay in the van for the most part.

I hope your 2012 is going better than mine so far!  🙂

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

Charlotte might know something about that. I haven’t worked on engines for a long time.

What do you think of working retail, like at a CVS or a Walgreens? I know, I know, people don’t like retail. The pay is crap and you bleed for your pay. Still, it is steady work and “relatively” secure. It’s an area where it’s hard to find good help. Plus, you can leave it at the door when you leave each day.

There may be alot of pharmacies where you live. You’ll probably only make $10/hour to start and be cashiering all of the time. I can tell you what to do and say to get such a job.

I’d like to hear more Ryu about how to get those jobs. You aren’t going to believe it but one of my favorite part time jobs is cashiering…I’ve done it part time before. Cashiering is much better to me than the out on the floor stuff. My daughter did it and she ended up folding shirts for hours….which sounds like what hell might be like.

The reason I might need tips is because my resume looks pretty patchy at this point so I may need to pull out the stops and charm my way into a job.

Check out web site: You might be able to use it. I will be later when I have learned more about on-line marketing, looks like you know a lot more about that than me.
