Updates

I’ve been going to the soup kitchen a lot lately because when I really look at my income and expenses, I don’t really have much money for food.  When I buy food I get really, really, really low on gas and I also have no money to fix my van when it breaks.  And it’s old, so it breaks a lot.

Today at the soup kitchen I sat with three women who I thought were normal.  By normal I mean not mental or on drugs.  But it turns out they are all pretty anxious and weird acting.  I don’t think they were this way when I first met them.  I wonder if they are on pharmaceutical medications for anxiety or depression.  I still like them all.  I was just kind of shocked at the way they talked.  Then again, they don’t have anything to keep them busy so I guess it makes sense that they talk about odd things.  Poor things.

I haven’t seen my X boyfriend in almost 3 weeks.  He had mentioned going to another state.  I kind of hope he does.  There may be more job opportunity there.  I miss him sometimes.  I cared for him a lot.  I hope he’s okay.

I have a few things planned for the weekend.  Hopefully, I’ll get a lot done.  I hope you all have a nice weekend too.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

I’d rather see you use the soup kitchen than somebody else. Nothing wrong with using the resource.

Thanks Ryu. I think I’m a good candidate too. I am working and unless something weird happens to the economy, I should be able to feed myself soon as business is really picking up. Sometimes I feel that the people that are running it think that because I have a vehicle and I’m not mental that I don’t belong there. I might be imagining it…just seems like they look at me funny. Until they say something though, I will continue to go there because they serve healthy meals there. It would cost me a fortune to get a lunch like that elsewhere and I can’t cook for myself.
