The Internet and Productivity

Have I mentioned I’m an internet junkie?  I used to read and post on forums.  It started innocently enough.  The forum sites were having to do with my career.  I went to these sites to learn.  At least that’s what I told myself.   I think it was actually a way to procrastinate.  What better way to avoid scary things than by pretending to be busy online.  I did a great job fooling myself and I quickly digressed to debating over things I couldn’t change and making a bunch of (virtual?) people dislike me for my stance.  I even got threatened with bodily harm once.  (Good job huh?)

More recently I’ve participated in political type forums and in Facebook groups of the same ilk.  Strangely enough (haha) I found myself debating again over things I couldn’t change and getting more people to dislike me.  Oh dear.

I can’t tell you how many hours and hours and hours I spent on this ridiculousness!  It’s shameful!

I don’t have a home to take care of anymore and I don’t work 40 hours a week at some mind numbing, spirit killing job SOOOOOO I should be able to accomplish so much right?  INDEED but not if I am screwing around on the internet day and night!

Last night I fixed the Facebook problem by changing my password to some goobiliee gook I won’t remember.  Now I can’t get on my Facebook profile anymore.  Hahaha, take that Facebook!  And already I’m writing up a storm, YAY!  I’m sorry Facebook friends!  (will they even notice I’m gone?  I doubt it!)

Now when I have thoughts, instead of writing some tiny blurb on Facebook, I’m going to have to really think, really write something of value to the best of my ability.  It seems challenging sometimes to try to come up with something new to blog about every day or two but I think I can do it if I really put my mind to it.

I was very encouraged today by someone on a forum who says I write well.  Hahaha….I just outed myself.  I was on ANOTHER forum!  hehehe.  Anyway he said:

I just read your entire blog. I enjoyed it. You write very well. You should look into writting gigs for affiliate marketers. They are always looking for good writers like yourself.”
Isn’t that nice?  He read my whole blog!  How flattering!  Thanks again for listening.  Good night!

    Hi there,

I followed a link to your blog through the city data forums. You’ve got a great thing going for yourself and it’s nice to see someone who understands self determination! Stay safe and stay warm.
