Reprieve and Income Increase

It’s always nice when I have a house-sitting job.  I highly recommend house-sitting and pet-sitting to free-sleepers.

Of course, if you are the bad kind of free-sleeper (drug addict) this likely won’t work for you.  If you want to get repeat business from your clients you will have to keep their home and pets in a clean and secure manner.

This job is 5 days long.  Since my van is broken down (again) my client is actually letting me use her car.  It feels good that she trusts me.  After driving around in my rickety old van, driving her newer model largish luxury car feels like riding on a cloud!

I am taking advantage of this long period of housing to get a few things done and to save money.  She said I can eat whatever I can find in the fridge and cabinets so this will save me a minimum of $50.  I am also washing my clothes daily in the tub and hanging them to dry out back.  This saves money at the laundrymat.  Every little bit helps when you are saving money to fix your car.

I will do a light cleaning of her house before she gets back so my client feels great when she walks in the front door.

I don’t have a lot of money left at the end of my month!  Still, I live good.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

It surely is a death trap. God knows when the other shoe is going to drop now. I don’t know how the Fed and USG keep things going. I think your way is best. Alot of people are going to have to get used to your way of doing things.
