Recovery

I might have mentioned before that the reason the city I am living in attracts so many homeless people is because of the soup kitchen, “the church” and other resources.  There are also a LOT of recovery homes where people go to get and stay sober.

Lately I have seen a recovery  story unfolding before me.  C’s husband D got sober.  I really like C and I’m so glad she and her husband are going to have a happier life.  D looks great!

So I always flip flop on whether I think all the services are a good thing or not.  I mean, they helped keep these men alive until they got sober but would they have gotten sober quicker if the hadn’t been enabled?  I rather think so.

I cleaned out my van this morning.  I have too much stuff in there again.  A friend kind of constructively criticized me for the way it looked.  I was hurt but my friend was right so I cleaned it up.

I’ve been sleeping in a an area that is ok.  It’s a little more brightly lit than I would prefer but it’s a place I feel comfortable cleaning up my van.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.
