Real

It got real last night when at 7pm I found that my van was INSIDE the automotive shop and I couldn’t sleep in it!  Nightmare.

Thankfully, I had enough cash to rent a room.  The cheapo places were full because it’s the beginning of the month and my lucky-ducky, non-working druggy friends had them all rented out.

I enjoyed my stay though.  It felt like heaven.  So clean.  High ceilings.  Heavenly bed.  Hot bath.  Microwave, fridge, blow dryer, coffeemaker, continental (cheapo) breakfast and more.  I sleep so well.  I could get used to that.

I borrowed money from a friend to fix my van.  I have never borrowed money from a friend before.  I get tired of asking my mom.  I will pay him back in the next couple of months.  He’s a peach.  He lent me more than I asked for.

As they say, when times are tough, you learn who your friends are and I have more than I deserve.  I am very lucky.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

Heaven doesn’t last long. In 3 days, you’d be used to it again. It’s damn expensive a heaven at that. But hell doesn’t last either. You seem over it.

Maybe you could schedule a day ever so often in a hotel. It’s a nice little treat.
