People are Funny

I was at a coffee shop this morning and this young lady was wearing a pretty dress.  One of the women customers complimented her on it and she said, “thank you” in a very nice voice but didn’t even look up from her cell/text/internet device to say it.

Why wear something pretty and not enjoy the compliment?

Anyway, I’ve asked “the street” if they have seen my x-boyfriend and they all said no so I think he really did it.  He went up north somewhere to find work.  Good for him!  The job market here is terrible and some of the areas he talked about going are much better.  I hope and pray he is safe and well although I’m sad that I’ll probably never see him again.  I was thinking this morning that it looks like my breaking up with him spurred him to action.  That’s a very good thing!  I want him to have a good life.

Other than that, all is well here.  I’m starting a housesitting job tomorrow that will last 17 days so I’ll be off the street and in a whole different town.  I always enjoy the change of scenary.

I’m trying to figure out how to practice my Spanish speaking-A friend gave me a recording thing that I have to practice outloud.  I will do it at the house where I am housesitting for now but where can I do it when the job is over?  I’m a little afraid if people see me “talking to myself” in my van, they might call the cops!  Ideas welcome!

Talk to yourself…while at the soup kitchen! Then you are sure to get your own table.

Hold a phone up to your ear and talk away! As important, if you can listen to people speaking Spanish it really helps you grasp the “music” of the language.

B! How’s it going? That’s a good idea. I just got a new phone and Im going to try to figure out how to download the spanish course on it. Then I can do just what you said. Thanks!
