New Experience and Weekend Trip

Can’t remember if I told you all.  I went to a Falun Gong class a couple of weeks ago at the suggestion of a friend.  (Thanks MW)  If you want to learn more, this is a pretty simple site that explains it.  Check it out!  The Communist Chinese government is so afraid of the power and popularity of Falun Gong, they persecute its practitioners (even to death!) in China.  Don’t be alarmed at the use of the Swaztika symbol in Falun Gong.  I only found out recently that the Swaztika has been a good luck symbol around the world for thousands of years.  Who am I to shun a little luck?

I’m going on a trip tomorrow.  I’m going to take a train 8 hours north.  I’m going to meet some political friends who I haven’t met in person before.  I only know them from online and I also know people (in person) who know them.  There’s going to be a concert and hopefully some warm fellowship.  I’ve been planning this for a while.  I hope it’s fun.  It will be a little work too.  I’ll be giving out fliers for a website I’ve been working on for a couple of months.  I hope I’m successful with the site.  It’s a good cause.

As I mentioned earlier, I am trying to stay busy with lots of projects so I don’t feel my loneliness too much.  I always have a lot of projects I plan on doing so now I am just actually DOING them instead of talking about them.  Maybe it is part of Yahweh’s plan for me to be single for the rest of my life so I can do more good.  That’s not SUPER comforting…but it’s something I guess.  If I had a husband, I would be busy keeping him happy, running a household, cooking etc. and I wouldn’t have as much time for activism, self-improvement and other fun pursuits.  I am going to try to relish this time of freedom.  I never know when life will change and I won’t have  time for the same things anymore.  Or maybe the doomers will be right and horrible things will happenin this country and life will just become about survival.  Perish the thought.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Maureen.
