In Plain Sight

So my plan is to hide in plain sight when I park my van to go to sleep at night.  What this means is, I must get everything situated for going to bed, before I park the van.  Once I find my spot and park, I will look around…make sure no one is paying attention to me, then slip into the back and lie down.  That’s it for the night.  I can’t talk on the phone or use the computer after I’ve slipped into the back because the lights might draw attention to me.  I also try to move slowly when I reposition myself during the night.  I don’t want anyone to see the van moving around and suspect someone is in there!

In the mornings, I will probably find a park (I think I know where all the parks in the area are) where I can straighten out my bedding and get things in order.  I think this is really important because if I wait to do it in a public place (like where I have my breakfast and wash up), there’s a chance I will attract unwanted attention…and I’m not referring to cops either.  Besides organizing the blankets and such, I will make sure I have all my washup items in one bag.  There usually isn’t anyone hanging around the parks at 6:30 in the morning so it should be fairly safe.  I love parks so I can just sit and enjoy the quiet for a few minutes too.  Then off for coffee, food and bathroom!

Last night’s sleeping was pretty good.  I took some advice I found online about parking near a street light.  It make me a little nervous because I wondered if people could see into the van.  Thing is, for safety reasons I want my vehicle to look like a man’s van and I had just done laundry and had a couple of my blouses hanging up to dry!  They make decent window covering but still!  I also worried about casting shadows when I moved around.  I move a good bit trying to keep my legs comfortable.

Today I have to work but first I have to go to the gym and shower (I skipped it yesterday -I know, gross!  I washed though I promise!).  An extra bonus of van living is I’m forced to workout whether I want to or not.

Hope this isn’t too long!  Have a nice day my friends!
