I DO love the gym

I am really starting to like going to the gym. It’s so much funner with a friend!

When I first started going, I went really easy on myself. I didn’t push too hard. Now I’m at the point where my body just wants to do more. It’s so neat.

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

Sounds like you started right, lots if people start gong-ho and quit because of the pain, slow and steady with a occasional hard push, is best for the non-competitive person. Hmmm, said that wrong, for a person not competing in body building. Good luck with everything…

Good for you. It’s a sport that you can do your entire life, unlike so many others. One of my favorite movies is about female trainers. Pumping Iron 2 with Rachael McGlish:

Have you tried qigong or yoga? Do they offer it at the gym? Do they have an area with a TV adn DVD player and a mat? At my local gym they do. you use it for videos they have or your own. I say this because I discovered something called “Marie Windsor bodyband pilates” which is actually very effective stretching/loosening of the joints. You’d think that yoga loosens the joints, but I found that it is mostly strengthening exercises, albeit more balanced strengthening than pumping iron. What I really want is loose and free joints, and Marie Winsor bodyband accomplishes that more efficiently than any yoga routine I know of.
