I have a couple of short term goals that I want to accomplish in 2012.

1.  I want to get some dental work done so I can smile again.

2.  I want to buy a tent and other camping gear, find a spot in the woods and camp out all spring and summer.  I like my van but I’m craving the experience of being outdoors more. Doesn’t camping sound fun?

About Maureen, Living in a Van

I'm a free-sleeper living in a van in the prettiest part of the world. I do this partly due to financial circumstances and partly because I love a good adventure.

    See if you can find a dental school or dental hygientist school at the allied heath dept at a local university to go to. They are in training so $$ is low. Camping gear I have found at thrift store but usually at garage sales because the kids have out grown there tents or show no interest in them anymore so the parents are getting rid of them.

      I’m a little nervous about using a school but I might. How has your luck been with getting tents at yards sales/thrift stores….have all the pieces been present?

      I love all your suggestions, thank you Eyewrist! I’ve also been wondering if there is some significance to your handle.

        At the dental schools, they have to practice on someone either at the school or after they graduate. Many times doctors have an intern doing the work with them so they can get the experience but the general public are unaware especially at those teaching (medical) university. Plus you must look at the fact they are being graded for their work so they have to do their best.
        As far as equipment for camping, there’s better luck at garage sales to get most of the stuff you need. They tend to sale all of it at one time. But also you can use in the van with the exception of the tent.
        OH, say my handle fast while pointing at each body part and you can figure it out…most of the time;}
