Do Homeless Chicks Go Shopping?

I went clothes shopping a few days ago.  Now you’ll rarely find me at a mall.  Malls make me tired.  Too much noise and light I think.  Too big.  And almost everything is expensive.

A number of years ago I started shopping at yardsales, Goodwill/Salvation Army type places and consignment shops for clothing and household items.  Once you pay 20% of what something is worth for a bit, it’s hard to go back to buying things new.  Not only that, but I have never had anything I’ve bought second hand fall apart or look bad after washing, like clothes from the “inexpensive” retail stores sometimes do.  And best of all, since some of the clothes are a bit older, some of them were actually made in the good ‘ole USA.  Imagine that!  So here are some of my finds and their approximate costs:

a cute red sweatsuit for 10 bucks

white cotton shirt for working out for 6 bucks

super cute purple cotton shirt  for working out – 6 bucks

poly-blend wine colored blouse with pretty ruffles – 8 bucks

cute red skull cap – 2 bucks (I love hats!)

All this for under 40 dollars.  Super cool!

BTW, I don’t go clothes shopping very often but I’m losing weight so right now, I’m buying more than usual.
